Kathryn Williams Dies in Cherokee
Mrs. Kathryn Williams, 76, of LeMars died shortly before midnight Thursday, Jan. 11, (1951), in the Cherokee hospital following an illness of over a year. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at the Mauer funeral home with the Rev. H.V. Bartz officiating. Burial was in the Boyden cemetery in Boyden, Iowa.
Mrs. Williams was born Nov. 29, 1874, in Sioux county to William and Kathrine Winch. She married Claude Williams in Boyden in 1896 and moved to LeMars in 1919. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Coolidge; two brothers, Henry and William Winch and a sister Mrs. Bertha Olsen.
Survivors are a son, William of LeMars; two brothers, George Winch of George, Iowa, and Charles Winch of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Dunnick of Sheldon, Mrs. Edith Gilliland of Laredo, Tex., and May Gasser of Sioux City, and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Methodist church, the Woman's Relief Corps and the Spanish auxiliary.
