Hazel Mildred Barr was born February 17, 1895, at Akron, Iowa, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barr.

She spent her girlhood here and was married to Grover C. Jones on September 2,1910. To this union five children wee born, one boy and four girls. One daughter Pearl Virginia, passed away about five years ago.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband and four children, Opal, Florence, Janet, and Walter; her mother, Mrs. Frank Barr; two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Nall and Mrs. John Carpenter, and one brother, Hayes Herbert Barr, of Akron, and vicinity.

Mrs. Jones united with the Church of Christ of Akron about twelve years ago. She was a kind and devoted wife and mother, a kind and helpful neighbor.

She had been in poor health for about two years, but unexpectedly passed away at her home west of Akron, in Union county, S. D., Thursday forenoon August 24, 1925, at the age of 30 years, 6 months, and 10 days. Pulmonary embolism was the cause of death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. C. Davis at the Church of Christ in Akron on Saturday, August 29, in the presence of a large number of sympathizing friends. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
