OBITUARY: Mrs. Josie La Bahn March 12, 1937
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Merrill Methodist church for Mrs. Josie La Bahn, 58, of Liberty township who died Friday.
Rev. James T. Albertson, Pastor, officiated and interment was in Floyd Cemetery.
Mrs. La Bahn was born May 16, 1888 in Perry township, Plymouth county.
She attended the Perry township schools. She was married to Fred LaBahn at LeMars on February 26, 1913. The couple lived for several years on a farm in Johnson township, later moving to a farm in Liberty township.
Surviving are the widower; a brother, Joseph Poradek of Sioux City, and five sisters, Mrs. Charles Juzek, Mrs. Mike Vondrak and Mrs. Robert Brownlee, all of Hinton, and Mrs. Jack Armstrong of Ponca, Neb. Several nieces and nenphews also survive.

Life Long Resident Of Plymouth County Dies After Brief Illness.Final rites were held Monday afternoon for Mrs. Josephine La Bahn, 48 (actually 49) of Liberty township, who died Saturday following a brief illness from pneumonia. Rev. J. T. Albertson, the pastor, officiated, and interment was made in Floyd cemetery.
Josephine Poradek was born in Perry township, Plymouth county, May 16, 1888 (gravestone says 1887), and grew up there, receiving her early education in the Perry schools. She was united in marriage with Fred La Bahn, in Le Mars, February 26, 1913. The first five years of their married life they made their home on a farm in Johnson township, moving in 1918 to a farm in Liberty township, where they have lived since.
Her death is mourned by her husband, a brother, Joseph Poradek, of Sioux City; five sisters, Mrs. Charles Juzek, Mrs. Michael Vondrak and Mrs. Robert Brownlee, of Hinton; Mrs. Wm. Bauerly, of Merrill; Mrs. Jack Armstrong, of Ponca, Neb., and a large number of nephews and nieces.
Mrs. La Bahn was widely known in a large circle of acquaintances and was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
