Rosine L Berg

Rosine L. Berg, 86, of Akron, Iowa, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1993, at Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden after a lengthy illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Loren Vogler officiated. Congregational hymns sung were "What A Friend" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Marietta Nielsen, organist. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Casket bearers were Mark Vander Helm, Donnie Lukson, Bill Gengler, Mike McDougall, Mark Kowalke, and Bob Walrod.

Miss Berg was born Aug. 3, 1907, in Grant township, Plymouth county, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Heeren) Berg. She was baptized Aug. 25, 1907 at Christ Lutheran church in Grant township, rural Le Mars and confirmed March 20, 1921, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Craig, Iowa. A lifelong Plymouth county resident, she lived most of the years with a sister and brother-in-law Anna and Martin Toben of Akron. In January 1983, she became a resident of the nursing home.

Survivors include a brother, Herman Berg of Cave Junction, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Minnie ToboIt, Emma Plueger, Ida Marienau, and Anna Toben; and two brothers, Rev. Carl Berg and Ludwig Bernhard Berg in infancy.
