SPARLING, ROBINSON, MCCORMACK

Note: Her mother's maiden name was Mccormack.

Edith I. Sparling was born at Geneso, Illinois, April 15, 1868, and passed away January 20, 1949. She was the eldest daughter of Eugene H. and Caroline A. Robinson. they moved to Florida when Edith was a young child settling near Jacksonville. A few years later her parents moved to Le mars, Iowa, where she received her education and grew to womanhood.

After attending the Le Mars Normal she taught in the public schools of Plymouth county for several years.

She met and married Samuel M. Sparling at Westfield, Iowa. They lived near that town for 12 years, moving California in the year of 1912. They bought a home in Highland Park, Los Angeles, where they have resided ever since.

Mrs. Sparling was a Christina woman, possessing fine qualities of character and a member of the Methodist church for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and a kind, helpful friend and neighbor.

Left to mourn her loss, is a daughter, Mrs. D. W. Brown of Huntington Park, also two sisters: Clara E. Stokes of Pasadena, Mrs. Bessie B. Hassark of Long Beach and numerous nephews and nieces.

Her husband, Mr. Sparling, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. They were Homer E. Robinson, Dawson, N. D.; Emory T. Robinson, Fairview, Montana; Mrs. may Lilly, Westfield, Iowa, and Mrs. Irene Bates of Los Angeles, Calif..

Arrangements were made at Edwards Bros. Mortuary, Los Angeles, and interment was in beautiful Forest Lawn cemetery. C.S.
