MRS. DAVID LILLY CALLED BY DEATH SUNDAY, JAN. 20
Rites Held Tuesday For An Esteemed Westfield Woman
Mrs. David Lilly, a well-known resident of Westfield, passed away Sunday, January 20, at the Akron Hospital, aged 57 years, 9 months, and 2 days.
Grace Paramore was born to parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Paramore, at Hawarden, Iowa, April 18, 1905. She was graduated from Hawarden high school and from the University of Iowa in 1927, as a Phi Beta Kappa, after which she taught school for four years at Appleton, Minnesota, and Emporia (Kan.) State Teachers college.
She was married to David Lilly, September 17, 1931.
Survivors are the widower; a son, David, of Westfield; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Knapp, of Iowa City,and a brother, Robert Paramore of Quincy, Ill.
Mrs. Lilly belonged to the Westfield Congregational Church. As a member of the Ladies Aid Society and Tuesday Club, she served each as president and in many other capacities including acting on the Library Board. An extraordinary person of insight, knowledge and skill, combined with humor, sympathy, and a deep religious sense, she leaves a rich heritage to her family, church,and community. These qualities she shared generously.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational Church in Westfield, Rev. Donald Roberts officiating. The Congregational choir sang and Mrs. Keith Knapp was accompanist.
Pall bearers were Keith Knapp, Alvord Banks, Wallace Lilly, Clare Lilly, John Martin and Robert Michael. Interment was in Akron Riverside cemetery.
