His mother's maiden name was Green.

Homer Ritchie

Homer Ritchie, 82, Kingsley, died Sunday (Jan. 2, 1983) at his farm home after a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars. The Rev. Howard Marty officiated. Burial was in the Le Mars Memorial cemetery.

Mr. Ritchie was born June 16, 1900, in Paris, Ky., and came to Plymouth county in 1922. He married Magdalena Hettwere May 28, 1924 in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Kingsley area. He was a member of the Union Presbyterian church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe of rural Kingsley; a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Eunice) Hayden of Westfield; his twin brother, Omer of Le Mars; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Garwin of Hagerstown, Ind.; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
