Mrs. Gust Swanson Taken By Death

Mrs. Emma Swanson, 68, wife of Gust Swanson of Liberty Township, passed away last Friday in her home after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born at Kalsvick, Sweden, July 7, 1878, and came to the United States and to Sioux City in 1903. On February 22, 1904, she was united in marriage to Gust Swanson at Hinton, and they located in Liberty Township where she resided the rest of her life.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church at Sioux City, and had many friends there, and in the community in which she lived.

Survivors include her widower; one daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Harding of East Stanwood, Wash.; one brother, Andrew Johnson of Sioux City, one sister, Mrs. Amanda Johnson of Redfield, S.D., and four grand children.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3:30 at the Nelson-Berger funeral home in Sioux City with Rev. Wayne E. Peterson, officiating. Burial was in the Liberty township cemetery.
