OBITUARY

Fred Fletcher, born April 10, 1872 in Morrison, Ill., died Dec. 22, 1949, at Chamberlain, S. D., after only a few months illness.

He came to Iowa with his father when a young man. On Feb. 26, 1891 at Le Mars, Iowa, he was married to Minnie Fletcher of Adaville, and they moved to a homestead near Reliance, S. D., in Lyman county, building the homestead to one of the finest farms and country homes for many miles around.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie, three daughters, Lulu (Mrs. Arthur Peterson), Susie (Mrs. J. Moulton), Laura (Mrs. Robert Tagton), one son, Ray Fletcher, all of Reliance, S. D., one sister, Mrs. Ida Morehead of San Diego, Calif., one brother, Walter J. of Clinton, Minn., and one half-broother, Willie Fletcher of Omaha.

Mr. Fletcher served as county commissoner for Lyman county a number of years, was chairman of the Republican county central committee for 10 years and also a charter member of the Reliance I. O. O. F. lodge.

Funeral services were held Dec. 26, 1949, at the Methodist church in Reliance, Rev. Bonney officiating.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Walter Fletcher, Lottie, Vera and Carl Fletcher of Clinton, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Truman Campbell and Lois Jean, Mrs. Walter Young of Akron, Mr. and Mrs. Fred King and Lowell Norman of lucas, S. D.
