--------------------------Ludwig Stenzel Passes Away
Lived In Le Mars Past Fifteen Years
Ludwig Herman Stenzel, 79, died Thursday night at the home of h is daughter, Mrs. H. A. Adden,. He had been a resident of Le Mars the past fifteen years. The wife's maiden name has been spelled both ways Wenzlaff or Wenzloff.
Born at Wimslowe, Prussia, Germany, November 9, 1862, he came to America in 1862 and lived in the east for a few years and then came west to Nebraska. He was married at Iron Town, Nebraska, to Emilie Wenzlaff in 1889. After their marriage they lived in Illinois and then moved to Titonka, Iowa. After the death of his wife in 1927 he lived with his children.
He is survived by four children, Mrs. Helen Adden of Los Angeles, Cal., Otto Stenzel, who is serving in the army, Mrs. Katherine Adden of Le Mars and Will Stenzel of Titonka, and four grandchildren. He also leaves four -brothers, Otto and Paul in Germany, August in St. Louis, Carl of Wenona, Ill., and Mrs. Alvin of Wenona, Ill.
The funeral services were held in Le Mars at St. John's Lutheran church Monday morning, Rev. F. H. Voelker of Craig officiating, and a service was held in the afternoon in Good Hope Lutheran church at Titonka, Rev. Martin Schulz officiating, and interment made in the Titonka cemetery.
The Mauer funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
