Charles Patrick Boden, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. V. Boden, was born February 9, 1894, in Union county, S.D., and died May 20, 1934, at the age of 40 years, 3 months and 11 days. He attended the rural and Akron schools. He started in the barber trade here in February, 1910, and had since continued in that business, being for a number of years in partnership with his brothers-in law, Frank and Arthur Montagne, and recently in business by himself. He was united in marriage with Miss Agness Montague on May 1, 1917, and three children cam to bless their union, Donald, 13, Gordon, 4, and Kathleen, 2.
Besides his widow and children, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Boden, west of twon and seven sisters and three brothers--Mrs. Perey Harrington,, of Le Mars, Ia; Mrs. Lawrence Torstensen, of Vermillion, S.D.; Miss Lenore Boden, of Sioux City; Mrs. Frank Simeon, Mrs. Ralph Gale, Mrs. L. T. Lamoureux, Mrs. Clifford Johnson, F. J. Boden, Clarence Boden and Elmer Boden, all of Akron.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock in st. Patrick's Catholic Church, Rev. FVr. J. A. Roder officiating. The church was inadequate in size to hold anywhere near all who wished to attend the service, nearly as many people remaining outside as were within.
The pallbearers were A. J Claeys J. Elving, Richard Klauer, Jas. A. Agnes, Martin Hendricks and J. L. Clayton. An escort of honorary pallbearers were chosen from members f the A"kron fire department, of which organization the deceased was chief. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. All AKron business places closed during the funeral hour as a mark of respect.
Many relatives and friends attended the funeral from Sioux Falls, Mitchell, Sioux City, Elk Point, Jefferson, Vermillion, Le Mars, Hawarden and Westfield.
