Jessie M. Bennett Claimed By Death
Made Home In Le Mars In Last Years
Miss Jessie M. Bennett, 76, died Saturday night at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Robert Wick, where she had made her home the past few years, after a long illness. She had been in failing health for four years and the last year and a half was seriously ill.
Miss Bennett was born September 4, 1866, at Waukegan, Ill. In younger days she was a frequent visitor in Le Mars with his sister, the late Mr. T. A. Bray. Miss Bennett lived in San Diego, Cal., for about twenty-five years before coming to Le Mars. In her declining days she was cared for by her niece, Mrs. Wick.
Miss Bennett was a member of the Methodist church and a good Christian woman. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bennett, early settlers in Waukegan, Ill.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. C. A. Williams of Pittsburg, Pa., and a large number of nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
The body was taken to the Mauer funeral home for shipment to Waukegan, where the funeral will be held Wednesday.
Miss Bette Wick, a great-niece, will accompany the remains to Waukegan.
