Last Rites Are Held Tuesday Afternoon For Mrs, Frank Bennett
Mrs. Frank Bennett, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bessie McMahon, in Sioux City, on March 27, 1953, having reached the age of 72 years, 7 months and 16 days.
Minnie Nall Bennett was born August llth, 1880, ark a farm near Gilead, Missouri. She was the daughter of James and Mary Nall. In early childhood she was baptized in the Baptist faith, the baptism taking place in a stream of water which flowed beside the church grounds. During the summer of 1901 she came to the Akron vicinity. The family made the journey from Missouri to Akron in a covered Wagon.
On December 16, 1902, she was United in marriage with Frank Bennett in the Baptist church at Big Springs in Union county, South Dakota. To this union were born nine children, of which four—three sons and a daughter—died in infancy.
Besides her husband, Frank, she is survived by four daughters, Bessie McMahon, of Sioux City; Gladys Huebner and Daisy Sayles, of Akron, and Helen Martens, of Carlisle, Iowa; a son, Clarence, of Hawarden; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Fletcher and Mrs. Pearl Scott, of Akron, and Mrs. Gladys Elliott, of Indianapolis, Indiana; a brother, William Nail, of Akron, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p. m. in the First Baptist church, of Akron, Rev. Dan J. Peterson and Rev. T. Earl Starke officiating. Vocalists were Harold Peck and Marvin Klemme. Mrs. Helen Adams was organist and Mrs. Mildred Klemme was pianist.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Floyd Fletcher, Darcy Fletcher, Elmo Fletcher, Harold Scott, Lowell Nall and Raymond Fletcher. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
