Fred Featherston

Fred Featherston. 91, Johnston City, Ill , a Plymouth county native and longtime resident, died Wednesday (June 30, 1976) at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 24, 1885, in Union township. Plymouth county, to John and Lettia Croston Featherston. The couple farmed in Union township for a number of years and moved to Kingsley where he worked for Hauck Oil and the Snyder drug store. Mr. Featherston was a longtime member of the Union township Presbyterian church where he served as an older. He was a member of Cosmos lodge, 470 AF and AM of Kingsley.

His first wife, the former Lavinia Hall, preceded him in death in 1946. He was married to Ann Cerveniak at Johnston City in 1956.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Michaelson funeral home. Kingsley. Rev. Gordon Watson will officiate and burial will be in the Kingsley cemetery under direction of the Michaelson funeral home. The body is scheduled to arrive at the Sioux City airport from Johnston City Thursday evening.

Survivors are his wife of Johnston City and a brother Gregg Featherston of Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Shirley, two. brothers and two sisters.
