WATBRBURY — In Sioux Valley township, Union county, South Dakota, Saturday, February 12, 1898, of catarrhal fever, Mrs. Fred E. Waterbury, aged 29 years, 1 mouth and 27 days.
Kittie Ethelda Stafford was born in Pierce county, Wisconsin, December 16, 1868. At fifteen years of age she came to Sioux City, Iowa, and there made her home until her marriage to Fred E. Waterbury, October 13, 1891. They began wedded life on a farm in Sioux Valley township, Union county, South Dakota, where they labored together until, after an illness of three weeks, death came, and removed from the home circle its charms, a wife and mother.
Mrs. Waterbury was a member of Pioneer Rebecca lodge and was ever alive to its interests, and here, her kind deeds will be long remembered. She leaves a husband and daughter, a father, mother, six brothers, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn her untimely departure.
Funeral services were held at the residence and at the Akron M. E. church, conducted by Rev. H. G. Campbell, after which interment was made in the Akron cemetery.
