LONG ILLNESS IS FATAL TO UNION COUNTY FARMER
Rites Held Tuesday Afternoon For Albert Waterbury
Albert Waterbury, a lifelong resident of Sioux Valley township, Union county, S.D., and a member of a pioneer family of that area passed away at the Akron Hospital, Saturday, March 9, after an extended illness, aged 78 years, 6 months, and 4 days.
Mr. Waterbury was born September 4, 1884, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Waterbury. There he grew to manhood on the parental farm, and on September 13, 1905, was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Kaelke, of Akron. They farmed in that area for may years. A man of genial nature and industrious habits he was held in high regard among a host of friends, who extend sympathy to the relatives in their bereavement.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie, two sons, Floyd of Akron and Mario of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. August Kaelke of Plainsville, Minn.; grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Westside Church of Christ, Rev. Dean Orris officiating. Mrs. Frances Mackey and Mrs. Virginia Swift were vocalists and Mrs. V. G. Adams was organist.
Pallbearers were Glenn Wakeman, Roy Dreeszen, Louis Sprenger, Joe Lambert,. Henry Steinert and Alve Ericson. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
