Services held Friday for longtime Akron barber
Russell "Bud" Waterbury, 72, lifelong resident and businessman died Tuesday (Feb. 19, 1980) at the Akron hospital of a short illness.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist church in Akron. The Rev. Burl Ratzsch officiated.. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of ;the Schroeder funeral home. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Mr. Waterbury was born June 9, 1907, in Akron. He married Emma Osterbuhr July 12, 1928 at Elk Point, S.D. He farmed in the Akron area and Bud's Barber shop in Akron for many years.
Survivors include the widow Emma, one daughter, Miss Jean Ann Waterbury of Akron and one sister, Mrs. Erma Hummel of Hawarden.
Pallbearers were Rodney Reoh, Marlin Osterbuhr, Charlie Boetger, Darrell Boetger, David Croy, Floyd Waterbury, Jr., and Bernard Beaubien.
Honorary pallbearers Fletcher, Dick Millard, Porter Maynard, Charlie Albert Hummel. were Floyd Leon Reoh, Caskey and Albert Hummel.
