Death of Mr. Anton Duerr.

From Tuesdays Daily

Anton Duerr died last night at his home on South Main street aged 68 years, 1 month and 8 days, of Bright’s disease. Mr. Duerr has been in very poor health for some lime and about two months ago it was realized that he had Bright's disease in its worse form and that it was only a matter of a short time before death would relieve him of his suffering, so that his death was not unexpected.

Anton Duerr was born in Alse, France, 68 years ago. He came to America in 1852 and settled first in Cincinnati, where he was married to Miss Christina Steinheler in 1853. Shortly after his marriage he removed with his wife to Galena, Illinois, where he engaged in the grain business. While in Galena six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Duerr, two of whom died in infancy, and four, Mrs. Will Laux, Bertha, Mollie and Matilda have grown to womanhood to mourn the loss of a kind parent. The aged wife and mother still survives. Mr. Duerr and family came to Le Mars in 1883 where they have resided since. In 1893 Mr. Duerr was elected coroner of Plymouth county and served one term. He was city weighmaster of Le Mars for three or four years. Mr. Duerr joined the German Methodist church in 1857 and has been an active member ever since. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, belonging to a lodge at Galena, Illinois.

The funeral of Anton Duerr deceased will be held at the house Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The funeral will be under the general management of the Le Mars Lodge of Odd Fellows.
