REMSEN. (From the Bell.) Mrs. Dorothea Wullstein died at her home in Remsen this morning January 16, at 5:30 a.m. after an illness of six weeks. The funeral will be next Saturday, Jan 18th, 1896, at 10 a.m. from the German Evangelical church, Rev. George Kreth officiating. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Jan. 20, 1896, page 4.
Note: According to www.familysearch.org , Dorothea’s death record and the 1895 census, she was the 2nd wife of Jacob Wullstein. She was born in Europe in 1842, died Jan. 16, 1896 and was buried Jan 18, 1896. In 1895, she was 52 years of age and Jacob was 58.
There is no gravestone, but she is likely buried in the Remsen Cemetery in the lot Jacob Wullstein purchased in 1896 – Block 1 East, Lot 109. Her funeral was from St. Paul Lutheran in Remsen, originally named the German Evangelical church.
