Carl J. Schuttpelz, 75, of 1114 - 13th St., died Tuesday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home. The Rev. John Durzak of St. Joseph Catholic church will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Walter Wingert, L.C. Langley, Herbert Langley Sr., Eugene Freymann, Anvey Swanson and Howard Graves.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Schuttpelz was born in Sioux City Dec. 15, 1900. He married Marie F. Belz, Oct. 29, 1930, in Dakota City. He farmed in the Sioux City vicinity until 1956 when he moved to Sioux City.

He was a driver for the Yellow Cab Co., from 1956 to 1962 when he retired. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Carl H. of Sioux city, and Walter of Hinton, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Mary Ellen) Langley of Sioux City, and Mrs. Alfred (Loretta) Blake of Jefferson, S.D.; 21 grandchildren; four brothers, George of Remsen, Iowa, Herman of Brownsville, Tex., Elmer of Sioux City, and William in Washington State; four sisters, Mrs. Leon (Freda) Rodwig and Mrs. Dean (Elsie) Bartlesen, both of Monroe, La., Mrs. Emil (Christine) Vondrak of Hinton, and Mrs. Merlin (Dorothy) Luken of LeMars, Iowa, and a nephew, Delbert L. Hammer, who lives in the Schuttpelz home.
