Samuel Schipper Died Last Thursday in Sioux City Hospital

Samuel Schipper, age 73, who has been a resident of Sioux City the past few years, died in a hospital on Thursday following an operation the early part of May.

Mr. Schipper was born in Le Mars on May 30, 1871, and during his lifetime followed the trade of hide inspector. He was married to Miss Bertha Duerr of Le Mars, who preceded him in death on February 22, 1941.

He is survived by two brothers, Henry and Hy, both of Le Mars; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Burkett of Jefferson, Iowa, Mrs. Lizzie Skuse of Mankato, Minnesota, Mrs. Ida Drummond, Mrs. May Gregory and Mrs. Nellie Fruechtenicht, all of Sioux City.

Funeral services were held at 4:30 o’clock on Saturday in Sioux City with Rev. John Oerter of the Le Mars Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was in the Le Mars cemetery.
