Early Resident of Remsen Dies in Minnesota.
Funeral services were held at Remsen Wednesday, for John Spiecker. Mr. Spiecker operated a livery barn for several years when the town was young.
Born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, in 1870, John came to this country in early manhood, and in 1895 married Hannah [Johanna] Brett. The couple resided in Remsen until 1904.
Surviving are four sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Herb Harnack of Remsen is a niece; Peter Ott and Henry Spiecker, of Remsen are cousins. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, April 24, 1924, page 1.
