Life’s End. FREDERICK STEFFEN OF REMSEN DEAD; FUNERAL FRIDAY.
Funeral services for Frederick August Steffen, 68, lifetime Remsen resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran church, Remsen.
Rev. Alfred Christiansen will officiate and burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday afternoon and evening.
Mr. Steffen died Tuesday at his home in Remsen after an illness of several years.
He was born March 22, 1897, at Remsen. He was a retired farmer, moving to Remsen in 1954 from his farm southeast of Remsen.
Mrs. Steffen, who survives, is the former Anna Grage.
Survivors are his wife, two sons, Orville and Roy, both of Remsen; four sisters, Mrs. Otto (Mary Kohnke, Remsen; Mrs. Arthur (Pauline Jensen, Baltimore; Mrs. S. B. (Boris) Johnston, Remsen, and Mrs. Ella McKinley, Manhattan, Kan.; two brothers, Elmer of Remsen and Carl, Long Beach, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Walter, and a sister, Minnie. – Le Mars Globe Post, Jan. 6, 1966.
