Mrs. Clara M. Hutton, 74, lifelong Craig and area resident, died Sunday (Jan. 7, 1979) at St. Joseph hospital, Sioux City, after a long illness. She had lived at Brentwood Good Samaritan home.

Clara Eggebrecht was born Dec. 10, 1904, at Craig to Herman and Minnie Ladwig Eggebrecht.She had operated a cafe for many years at Craig prior to her retirement. Mrs. Hutton was a member of St.John's American Lutheran church, Craig.

Her marriage to Nelson J. Hutton took place Jan. 18, 1923, at Craig. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by a grandson, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's American Lutheran church in Craig with Rev. William Gregerson officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery at Craig under direction of the Mauer funeral home. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are four sons, Eugene, Sioux City; Nelson Jr.. South Sioux City; Myron and Marlin, both of Craig; four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Arlene) Schulz, Alton; Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Bottjen, LeMars; Mrs. Gilbert (Coralie) Vande Mheen, South Sioux City, and Mrs. Gene (Roberta) Rohlfs, Craig; 23 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. William (Mildred) Beeck, Adrian, Minn., and Mrs. Fred (Grace) Ludwigs, LeMars.
