August Reinholdt, 68, Dies At Farm Home, Interment in Remsen.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 31, for August Reinholdt, 68, who died Wednesday morning, Oct. 28, at his farm home seven miles north of Pierson.
A retired farmer, he had been in ill health the past year, but died unexpectedly. He farmed south of Remsen 32 years, and moved to Pierson five years ago.
Last rites were held at the home at 11:15 p.m. and at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church, Remsen, Rev. Paul Wuebben officiated. Burial was in the Remsen city cemetery under the direction of the Moeller’s funeral home.
Mr. Reinholdt was born Mar. 6, 1885 on a farm north of Remsen, the son of John and Wiebke Reinholdt. His marriage to Anna Miller took place Dec., 28, 1917 at Bridgewater, S.D.
His wife survives as do four sons and two daughters. They are Harry of Remsen, Clarence of Le Mars, Walter of Lawton, Elmer at home, Mrs. Rueben (Florence) Heimgartner of Kingsley, and Mrs. Milton (Dorothy) Rumohr of San Antonio, Tex.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Herman Greesen of Sibley, and three brothers, Bill of Yakima, Wash.; Henry of Cherokee, and Fritz of Kingsley.
He was preceded in death by two infant sisters, four brothers and his parents. – Le Mars Sentinel, Nov. 4, 1953, Page 10.
