Life’s End. EMMA L. PEOPLES FINAL RITES ARE HELD AT SONORA, CALIFORNIA.
Mrs. Emma L. Peoples, 84, a former Remsen resident, died Sunday, April 21, in Sonora, Calif.
She had been in failing health for several years.
Emma Lindemann Peoples was born June 11, 1883, near Remsen.
She had been a school teacher in the Remsen are before moving to California.
She had lived in Stockton, Calif., before moving to Sonora.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sonora.
Burial will be in Remsen.
Surviving are one son, Edw. L. Peoples of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter Mrs. Max (Faye) Hagemeyer of Sonora, Calif., and seven grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, April 25, 1968, page 2.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Peoples, 84, Sonora, Calif., former Sioux City residents, were Wednesday, April 24, in Sonora. Burial was in the Remsen cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home at Remsen.
The former Emma Lindemann of Remsen, she had been a teacher in both Iowa and South Dakota schools. She and her husband had homesteaded in the Dakotas in the early 1900’s. They lived in Morningside for many years before moving to California in 1941. Mr. People’s worked at Sioux City packing plants as a meat inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
While in Sioux City, Mrs. Peoples was a member of Redeemer Lutheran church and was a past president of the Lutheran Ladies Aid society.
Survivors are a son, Edward Jr. of San Diego, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Faye Hagemeyer of Sonora; and seven grandchildren. – Le Mars Globe Post, April 29, 1968, page 5.
