BRIEF ILLNESS PROVES FATAL. MRS. GARRET MILLER SUCCCUMBS TO MALIGNANT MALADY IN FOUR DAYS.
H. P. Tonsfeldt, of this city, was called to Lake Benton, Minn., the beginning of the week by the death of his sister, Mrs. Anna Miller, which occurred at her home Sunday after an illness of only four days caused by diphtheria. Owing to the nature of the illness the funeral was strictly private. Services were held Monday afternoon at the grave side in the Remsen cemetery, Rev. J. J. DePree, of Le Mars officiating.
Mrs. Miller was a well known resident of Plymouth county nearly all her life, moving to Minnesota a few years ago.
Her maiden name was Anna Tonsfeldt, and was born at Keystone, Benton county, Iowa, December 25, 1882. When a child she came to Plymouth county with her parents who engaged in farming near Remsen. Here she grew up and received her education. She was united in marriage with A. G. Miller, of Remsen, January 11, 1911?. Following their marriage they lived on a farm near Remsen until 1917? When they moved to Minnesota locating near Lake Benton
She leaves to mourn her death her husband, A. G. Miller, five sons, Eldon, Vernon, Raymond, Leon and Orville and two brothers, and three sisters, who are H. P. Tonsfeldt, of Le Mars, Mrs. B. L Tesdell and Mrs. H. C. Burnsteadt, of Des Moines, and Mrs. C. A. Walkwitz of Mount Clemens, Mich.
Mrs. Miller was a devoted wife and mother and was respected and beloved by a large circle of friends in her girlhood home and at Lake Benton where she lived the last years of her life. - Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Aug. 17, 1928, page 1.
