MRS. D. A. MURRAY. Was Well Known Resident of Kingsley Since Girlhood.
Hattie M Ingalls, the daughter of Judson and Margaret Ingalls, was born at Union, Iowa, on the 18th day of November, in 1879. When she was seven years old the family moved to Kingsley, where she attended school and grew to womanhood. On the 9th day of October, in 1898, she exchanged marriage vows with Daniel A. Murray at Le Mars, Iowa. The young couple established themselves on the farm, which has remained their home until the present.
After a lingering illness of eighteen months she passed into eternity in a peaceful sleep at one o’clock Tuesday morning, March 25, having attained the age of 50 years, 4 months and 7 days.
She leaves to cherish her memory besides her husband, two sons, Calvin and Edwin Murray, both of Kingsley; five daughters, Mrs. Felix Borel and Mrs. Perry Hanson, both of Ashland, Mont; Mrs. Donald Sloss , of Grand Island, Neb.; and the two girls who are at home, Virginia and Margaret, and five grandchildren. One brother survives her, Calvin Ingalls, of Everett, Wash.; and four sisters, Mrs. Otto Unz, of Alden, Minn; Mrs. Clara Kisting, of Kingsley; Mrs. Alice Clauson, of Wagner, S.D., and Mrs. Lulu Hall, of San Francisco, Calif.
Mrs. Murray was a faithful wife and a devoted mother who spent her time and energy in caring for her children in a spirit of unselfish love. Her many fine traits of character won the esteem and friendship of those whose privilege it was to know her. - Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, April 8, 1930, page 4.
