Herman Letsche.
Herman Letsche, 79, longtime Remsen resident and retired farmer, died Thursday afternoon, April 24, at Sacred Heart hospital. He had been in failing health since the amputation of a leg about a year ago.
Born in Germany, he came to this country at the age of 15. He had resided in the Remsen vicinity since.
Survivors are his wife; four children, Erwin of Vayland, South Dakota; Carl, Walter and Mrs. Rose Nielsen all of Marcus, and a number of grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Christ Lutheran church Remsen. Burial was in the Remsen city cemetery. Friends called at the Moeller funeral home Friday evening. – Le Mars Globe Post, April 28, 1958, page 4. Also Le Mars Sentinel, April 24, 1958, page 4.
