Young Boy Dies of Meningitis. Frank Allen Kohler, Jr. Succumbs After 48 Hours in Hospital.
Frank Allen Kohler, jr., died in the Winona, Minn., hospital Tuesday, May 7, from acute meningitis of which type as yet is undetermined. He entered the hospital 48 hours preceding his death.
Frank, Jr. was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Kohler, sr., in Sioux Falls, S.D., May 31, 1930, and at death he reached the age of 4 years, 11 months, and 6 days.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Kohler, sr., five uncles, Elmer Kohler, George Kohler and Herbert Kohler of Le Mars, and Elmer Degner of Fergus Falls, Minn., Charles Holstrum, Colton, S.D., one aunt, Doris Kohler of Fergus Falls, Minn., three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kohler of Fergus Falls, and Mrs. M. Holstrom of Mapleton, Iowa.
The remains were shipped to Le Mars for burial. The funeral services will be private due to the seriousness of the disease, and will be held in the Beely’s mortuary parlors and 3 o’clock at the cemetery Friday afternoon, with Beely’s in charge. – Le Mars Globe Post, May 0, 1935, page 1.
Note: Frank Allen Kohler is buried in the Remsen City Cemetery in the Kohler family lot.
