Bertha D. Hoeck. Funeral services were held for Bertha D. Hoeck, 98, Tantallon, Md., at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Moeller funeral home in Remsen.
A son-in-law, Rev. Roger White of Indianapolis, officiated and graveside rites were held at the Remsen city cemetery following the final rites.
Mrs. Hoeck died Saturday (Feb. 20, 1982) at her home. She had been residing with a son, Dr. LeRoy E. Hoeck in Tantallon.
She was born to George and Wilhelmina Peters in Illinois and moved to Remsen in 1884. She lived at Remsen until 1908. On Sept. 3, 1908, she was married to Edward Hoeck at Remsen.
After their marriage the couple moved to Sibley where they lived until 1951 when they retired and moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., moving to Maryland in 1969. Mr. Hoeck died in 1971.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Ruth) Paine, Mason City; a son, Dr. Le Roy E. Hoeck, Tantallon, Md.; four grandchildren, Mrs. Roger (Prudence) White, Indianapolis; Gregory E. Paine, Minneapolis; Edward A. Hoeck, Salisbury, Md., and Dr. Barbara E. Hoeck, Washington D. C. and four great-grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Feb. 24, 1982, page 15.
