Long Time Resident Dies Friday

Nicholas Therens Services Held this Morning At St. Joseph's

Funeral services were held this morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church for Nicholas Therens, who passed away at the Sacred Heart hospital on Friday, July 18, Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiated at the services. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Nicholas Therens was born May 9, 1864, at Merscheld, Luxembourg, and was 83 years old at the time of his death. He had been in poor health for the past three years. Mr. Therens came to LeMars in 1884, moved to Colorado, and after living there for a year, returned to LeMars in 1888.

On January 27, 1891 he was united in marriage with Anna Fierisen at,St. Joseph's church.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Peter and Pierre.

Survivors included his wife, Anna, and one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Foley, three grand children, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters in Luxembourg.
