Elmer J. "Bud" Herzberg, 71, LeMars, died Thursday, June 21,1990, after an extended illness at Marian Health Center, Sioux City. Services were held at 1 p. m. Sunday, June 24, at St. Paul Lutheran church, rural Merrill, with Rev. Frank Philipp officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran church cemetery under direction of Mauer-Johnson funeral home.

Mr. Herzberg was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Johnson township of Plymouth county, to August and Katherine (Ohlrichs) Herzberg. He was married to Leona Rohlfs Dec. 14, 1945 in Craig. He was a lifelong resident of the county and a member of St. Paul Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; a son, Mark and wife, Deb Herzberg of Merrill; a daughter, Mary Kay and husband Jim Livermore, Le Mars; grandchildren, Brooke Herzberg and Nicholas and Lauren Livermore; and sisters, Clara Wetrosky, Rose Croon, Florence Oltmanns, and Geraldine Johnson, all of LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Lillian Herzberg.
