MRS. HERMAN GERBER OF ALTON BURIED IN CEMETERY HERE
Mrs. Herman Gerber, a resident of Alton since 1931, died at her home July 21 after an illness of five years. Funeral services were held at St. Mary Catholic church in Alton last Tuesday and burial was in the Le Mars city cemetery where her first husband is interred.
Fanny Jane Ferguson was born July 22, 1888, at Le Mars, and was married in 1905 to Fred C. Heien of Le Mars. Mr. Heien died in 1929. She was married Sept. 12, 1931 to Herman Gerber and has since made her home in Alton.
Survivors include the widower, two sons, John Heien of Merrill and Capt. Donald Gerber of Albuquerque, N. M.; 10 grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren; two stepchildren, Max Gerber of Denver and Marcella (Mrs. A. E.) Silva of. Burlingame, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Arnold Coppock of Le Mars, Mrs. Leslie Bowen of Maurice, Mrs. Nick Luken of Kansas City, Mo. One daughter, Mrs. Marie Heien Bowen, died in 1939.
