ROBERT ADAMS DIES SUDDENLY

This community was grievously shocked by news of the sudden and unexpected death of Robert Adams at his home in Akron at about 6:30 o'clock on Monday evening of this week. He had just eaten his supper and gone into the living room and suddenly slumped over. Death was apparently due to a heart attack.

Funeral services for Mr. Adams will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the First Baptist Church in Akron, with Rev. Richard Milne officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

A suitable obituary of this lifelong Akron resident and well-known business man will appear in these columns next week.

The sudden and unexpected death of Robert V. Adams at his home in Akron on Monday evening of last week, January 20, brought sorrow to his relatives and many friends. Death was due to an apparent heart attack shortly after 6:30 o'clock Monday evening.

Robert Vinton Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. G. Adams, of Akron, was born here on January 4, 1917. Robert was a graduate of the Akron High school where he was a star football player. He served in the U. S. Army during World War H, after which he returned to Akron and operated the Standard Oil Service Station which he had operated before going into the army. He later sold the service station to Arvin Finzen, and then purchased the Adams Implement Co. from his father, V. G. Adams, and had operated this business for about twenty years up to the time of his death. On September 25, 1935, he was united in marriage with Miss Lillian Swanson at Elk Point, S. D. To this union two children were born, Sylvia, and Robert R.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Akron on Thursday afternoon, January 23, with Rev. Michael Strom officiating. Mrs. Hugh Swift, vocalist, sang the selections "Under His Wings" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" with Stan Swanson accompanist. Casket bearers were Herman Renken, Richard Bean, Roy Carlson, Gordon Klemme, J. H. Earnest, Lyle F. Jacobs, Walter Dirks and Arvin Finzen. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.

Survivors include the widow, a daughter, Mrs. James Hulce, of Albuquerque, N. Mex.; a son Robert R. Adams, of Sioux City; his parents, j Mr. and Mrs. V. G. Adams, of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Cloyde Gabel, of Fountain Valley, Calif. two brothers, John Adams, of Long Island, N.Y. and Charles Adams, of Walnut Creek, Calif. and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Enid, and a twin brother, Edward.

The community extends sympathy to the family and relatives in their sudden bereavement.
