Michael Foley, 74, Akron Pioneer, Dies At Hospital There
Michael Foley died at Akron Community hospital Monday morning, June 21. He entered the hospital about three weeks ago, after having been a patient at the clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Michael F. Foley, son of Michael and Margaret Foley, was born Dec. 3, 1879, in Sioux county, Iowa, and attained the age of 74 years. When he was three years old he came with his parents to the vicinity of Adaville, Plymouth county, where he farmed until 1908. He then came to Akron and took employment as a tinner and plumber for the Klauer-Swanson Co. Afterward he continued in the same line of work up to the time of his illness.
Mr. Foley never married. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Welch, of Westfield township, and one brother, James, of Eagle Lake, Minn.: also a number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, in St. Patrick's Catholic church, Akron. Rev. Father J. G. Skahill officiating. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery.
