Note: His mother's maiden name was Nally.

Was Popular Resident of Adaville Vicinity for Many Years.

Relatives and friends of Thos. Foley were shocked Tuesday to hear a of his death at the Mayo Hospital, at Rochester, Minn. He had been in poor health the past year, and entered the hospital there and was operated upon for cancer of the stomach on September 15th. Although the operation was of a very serious nature, he made a satisfactory recovery until three or four days after his operation, when petition it is set in. His brother, James, was with him at Rochester during his last illness and accompanied the remains home, arriving here Wednesday forenoon.

Thomas Foley was born in Louisville, Ky., November 14, 1868 and died September 21, 1920. He came from Louisville to Maurice, Iowa with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Foley, in 1882, and they moved from Maurice to the old Foley home, east of here, three years later. Thos. Foley located at Miller, S. D. in 1908, where be engaged in the implement and auto business until his death, Mr. Foley was a single man.

He leaves to mourn his departure his mother, Mrs. M. Foley, three brothers, Michael P., James and Patrick A. Foley, of Akron; three sisters , Mrs. James Gale, of Beresford, S. D., Mrs. E d Byrnes, of Brookings, S. D., and Mrs. Wm. Welch, of Westfield.

His father, Michael Foley, died December 31, 1906, and three sisters died as follows: Mrs. Ed Hoffman, in May 5, 1907; Ella Foley on June 23, 1909 and Mrs. Frank Hoffman on July 23, 1909.

Tom Foley was as big in heart as he was in stature and his host of friends mourn his untimely departure and extend sincere sympathy to the aged mother and the brothers and sisters in their bereavement.
Funeral services were conducted by Father F. Wrenn at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in the Church of St. Patrick. Interment was in the local Catholic cemetery.

George Ross came from Miller, S. D. to attend the funeral, and also friends from Le Mars and the old home neighborhood east of town.
