MRS. IHNKE HARMS WAS RESIDENT OF PLYMOUTH COUNTY FORTY-SEVEN YEARS

Mrs. Ihnke Harms, pioneer resident of Plymouth county, died at her home in Brunsville Saturday after a lingering illness of two months at the age of 70 years. Death was due to anemia and falling constitution.

Helena Catharina, Harms, nee Siebels, was born in Blomberg, Ostfriesland, Germany, February 11, 1863, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith there. She was the youngest child of Olaus and Maria Sieibels. In 1885 she came to America and for one year lived at Sterling, Ill., and, later came to Plymouth county.

In 1887 she was united in marriage with Ihnke Harms and they lived on their farm west of Brunsville until 1918. They then retired from the farm and moved to Brunsville where they lived continuously since, except several winters spent in California and one year in Sioux City.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Ihnke Harms; five sons and three daughters: Henry J., Herman J., Dick H., John W. all of Brunsville, and Charles, of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Anna Harms, Mrs. Katherine Dickman, of Brunsville, and Mrs. Marie Johlfs, of Slayton, Minn.; twenty-nine grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran church in Grant township Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. A. Schempp at 1:30 p. m. Burial will be in Grant township cemetery.

Mrs. Harms was widely known, especially among the older settlers and was esteemed and respected by all who knew her. She was a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and friend.
