Mrs. Arthur Hasenbank
Mrs. Arthur (Anna) Hasenbank, 87 , of Akron, Iowa, died Tuesday (Dec. 29, 1987) in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran church, Akron. Rev. Benard Nelson officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home. A duet was sung by her granddaughters. Jon Harris sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Carol Harris was organist. Pallbearers were Harry Willer, Lloyd Willer, Charles Willer, Wilbur Hasenbank, Vernon Hasenbank, and Marvin Hasenbank.
Mrs. Hasenbank, the former Anna Marie Willer, was born May 10, 1900, to Hans and Cecelia Heitman Willer in Akron. She was a lifelong area resident. She married Arthur Hasenbank Feb. 27. 1924 in Le Mars. The couple farmed in the Akron area for 50 years and moved to Akron in 1974. Mr. Hasenbank died March 7, 1987. Mrs. Hasenbank worked at the Akron Community hospital for several years.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church, in Akron, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Immanuel LCW.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Hasenbank, of Conyers, Ga.; three brothers, Ed, Julius and Ted Willer, all of Akron; two sisters, Lena Papritz and Louise Martin, both of Akron; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Henry, John and George Willer.
