Adlai E. Bogenrief

Hinton special — Adlai E. Bogenrief, 85, Hinton, died Saturday (Nov. 10, 1979) at a Sioux City hospital following a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran church, Sioux City. Rev. Daniel Johnson and Vicar Ron Young will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery, under the direction of Nelson-Berger northside chapel.

Mr. Bogeruief was born Nov. 27,1893, in Plymouth county. He married the former Henrietta (Hattie) Riediger: June 24,1919, at Hinton. He lived in the Merrill and Hinton communities his entire life. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War 1, serving in company L of the Rainbow Division of the U.S. army. He received the Purple Heart in World War 1. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran church.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Mildred) Lahrs and Mrs. Forrest (Irene) Jones, both of Hinton; a sister, Mrs. Albert(Conrad, of Jasper, Minn.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Edward Jones.
