Lillian Stearns

Lillian Stearns, 70, former LeMars area resident, died Monday (March 21, 1988) at Hemet, Calif.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mauer-Johnson funeral home in LeMars. The Rev. James Ransom officiated. Burial was in the LeMars Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Stearns, formerly Lillian Buehre, was born March 16, 1918 in LeMars. She married Willard Stearns. Mr. Stearns died in 1961. She had lived in California since 1940. She was employed as a purchasing agent for the Long Beach Naval Shipyards for 20 years before her retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan Evans of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Vernon Buehre and Harry Buehre, both of LeMars; a sister, Mrs. Earl (Edna) Sargent of LeMars and two grandchildren.
