Henry Renken, 90, of Le Mars, died Saturday (Jan. 23,1982) at Brentwood nursing home in Le Mars after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Christ Lutheran church in Grant township. Rev. William Striepe will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Luken-Johnson funeral home at Le Mars.

Mr. Renken was born Nov. 7, 1891, at Marx Ostfriesland, Germany, to John and Trinke Fehrmann Renken. He came to the United States and to LeMars as a child. He married Amanda Ahrendt Nov. 27,1924, in Grant township. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. Mr. Renken was a member of Christ Lutheran church and Wasmer post, American Legion. He was an army veteran of World War 1. serving in France.

Survivors are his wife: two sons, Melvin of Manson and Elmer of Ireton: three daughters, Mrs. John (Dolores) Moritz of Struble. Marlys and Wilma. both of Le Mars: four sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) Ludwigs and Mrs. Tena Doering. both of Le Mars, Mrs. Fred (Meta) Ahrendt of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Emma Otto of Moscow, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Norma, Aug. 31, 1972. and a granddaughter
