Hector S. McInnis

Hector S. McInnis, 72, Sioux City, lounge owner, died (Feb. 22, 1981) at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Ban, assistant pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 54.

Mr. McInnis was born Sept. 5, 1908, at Le Mars, Iowa. He came to Sioux City in 1935. He married Violet Armbruster July 16, 1946, in Minneapolis. He was employed at the Sioux City Country Club for 18 years and was manager from 1961 until 1965. He had owned and operated Mac's Lounge since 1965. Mr. McInnis was of the Presbyterian faith and was union organizer for the AFL and past secretary for the Iowa Labor Union. He was a member of the DAV, VFW and the Eagles Lodge. He served in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Sterling and Brady, both of Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. Mae Jones of Westfield, Iowa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
