Mrs. Harry Oetken, 62, lifelong Le Mars and area resident, died Thursday evening (Feb. 21, 1974) at Floyd Valley Hospital after an extended illness.

Elsie Grosenheider was born May 14, 1911, in Preston township, a daughter of Robert and Meta (Pageler) Grosenheider. Her marriage took place Dec. 16, 1932, in Preston Township.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church, Preston Township, Rev. James Sandvik officiated. Burial was in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson
Funeral Home.

Survivors are her husband, Harry, Le Mars; a son, Loren, Akron; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Karla) Less, Merrill; three grandchildren; two brothers, Robert, Le Mars, and Fred, Ireton and three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Josephine) Popken, Ireton; Mrs. Carl (Vera) Mammon, Le Mars, and Mrs. Richard (Ann) Jones, Akron.

She was a member of St. John Church, Preston Township.

Mrs. Harry Oetken

Funeral Services were held Saturday, Feb. 23; at St. John's Lutheran Church at Akron for Mrs. Harry Oetken. 62, Le Mars. She passed away after an extended illness at a Le Mars hospital. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Luken-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Oetken was the former Elsie Grosenheider and was born May 14, 1911 in Preston Township. She was married there on Dec, 16, 1932. The couple farmed near Akron until moving to Le Mars in 1973.

Survivors include the widower: a son, Loren of Akron; a daughter: Mrs: Kenneth (Karla) Less of Merrill; two brothers, Robert of Le Mars and Fred of Ireton; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Popkin, Ireton; Mrs. Carl Mammen, Le Mars and Mrs. Richard Jones of Akron; and three grandchildren.
