Obituary. Harry Henry Haack.
Harry Henry Haack, 78, of Remsen died (April 21, 1978) at his farm home.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Julian Swanson officiated. Burial was in the Remsen City cemetery with the Moeller funeral home in charge.
Mr. Haack was born July 23, 1899, at Remsen. He famed in the Remsen area before retiring.
Survivors are five sisters, Mrs. Charles (Emma) Schumachaer, Alma Haack, and Mrs. Peter (Effie) J. Treinen, all of Remsen, and Mrs. Ida Schietzelt and Mrs. Bertha Wilen, both of Sioux City.
Plymouth county medical examiner Dr. Daryl Doorenbos said death was due to asphyxiation after he examined Mr. Haack at the residence.
The Remsen firemen answered the call to the Haack farm when neighbors called. Remsen Fireman Dale Anderson said firemen believed the man died in the kitchen at his home when an overstuffed chair smoldered after catching fire.
