Mrs. Leona Smith, 66, Hayward, Calif., a former Kingsiey resident, died Oct. 26 in a Hayward hospital after a lengthy illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m Oct. 29 in St. Michael's Catholic church with Rev. Gerald Fisch officiating. Burial was in St. Cathrine's Cemetery in Oyens under the direction of Dickinson-Michaelson Funeral home.
Mrs. Smith, the former Leona Ruba, was born June 6, 1909, in Le Mars. She lived in California for the past 15 years. She was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include three sons, William Laddusaw of Kingsley, James Laddusaw of Spencer and Donald Laddusaw of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Shirley) Custer of Sioux City and Mrs. Duane (Patricia) Wetrosky of Akron; three sisters and three brothers; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
