Herman Borchers
Herman Borchers, 55, of Knoxville, a former Akron farmer and cattle feeder, died unexpectedly Tuesday (July 17,1973) while at work for the Bingley Sales Co. He suffered a heart attack early in the afternoon while working on the cattle farm owned by the sales company. Mr. Borchers lived at 1413 North Glover, Knoxville. He reportedly had not been ill.
He was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Plymouth County, the son of William Anton and Margaret Johnson Borchers. For several years he farmed at rural Akron before going to Knoxville. He married the former Justene Toy of Knoxville, who survives.
Funeral services were Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville with Rev. David Fechner, pastor of the Lutheran church officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery there.
Survivors are his wife, Justene; two stepsons, Rick Roberts of Knoxville and Randy Roberts at home; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Emma) Eilts, Ireton; Mrs. Minnie Witt, Hawarden and Mrs. Lyle (Marie) Stephens of rural Akron and a brother, Edward B. Borchers of Akron.
