Funeral services were held for a former Akron school superintendent, Floyd A. Conner, at Alta, Iowa, on Friday afternoon of last week, March 16.

Mr. Conner was born at Alta September 30, 1895. He was graduated from.the Alta High school in 1914 and received a degree from Morningside College in Sioux City in 1921. He was in the banking business for several years at Alta and later taught school at Laurens, Iowa, and served as superintendent of schools at Rembrandt, Iowa, for eight years. He came to Akron in 1934 and served as superintendent of the Akron schools until 1937, leaving to become superintendent of schools at Sulphur Springs and also assisted in the education department at Buena Vista College at Storm Lake before retiring in 1971.

Mr. Conner was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City, and was a fifty-year member of Morningside Lodge, No. 615, in Sioux City, having received his fifty-year pin in 1968. He married Elsie Bennington December 25, 1922 at Lake City, Iowa, who survives him as does a sister, Mrs. Fern Nyberg, of Sioux City.

Funeral services for Mr. Conner were held at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Alta with Rev. Henry G. Eggink officiating.
