Mrs. Clifford F. Metz, 62, formerly of Akron, died unexpectedly at her home at Talent, Ore., Friday (Dec. 22,1972).

The former Mary Reidy, she was born Feb. 9, 1910, at Graettinger, the daughter of the late Dr. Matthew Joseph and Anna (Gillespie) Reidy. She graduated from Graettinger high school and Iowa State university, Ames. She taught in the Akron high school prior to her marriage to Clifford Metz, who was associated with the First National bank at Akron. In 1941 the couple moved to Oregon where they continued to make their home. In addition to her husband,

Mrs. Metz is survived by four daughters, one son and five grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. James P. (Helen) Kelley of Le Mars.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at Talent.
