Donald Campbell, age 53, of Akron, died June 29 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., July 1 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Rev. Stanley R. Stone officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery, the Schroeder Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Pall bearers were: Melvin Nielsen, Roland Swanson, Phillip Bernard, Ellis Tucker, Louis Conway and Merlin Nielsen. A Rosary was said at 8 p.m., June 30 at the Funeral Home.

Donald Campbell was born March 4, 1919, at Westfield, Iowa. He farmed for many years in the Akron area and the last 10 years worked for the Milwaukee Railroad. He married Sybil Agnes on October 4,1940 in Akron.

Survivors are his widow, a son, Marlin of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Dekker of Ireton, Iowa; three grandchildren; two brothers, Harold of Akron and Virgil of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Phil Beaubien, Sr., and Mrs. Clark Lilly, both of Westfield and Mrs. Alfred Eslick of Elk Point, S.D
